HISTORIAS

Historias is a short documentary commissioned by The Clemente Center as part of the Historias Initiative, a citywide program dedicated to celebrating New York’s diverse artistic communities through culture, storytelling, and public engagement.

Directed by Jacob Garces Marquez, this edition captures the Jackson Heights gathering through intimate interviews, live performances, and immersive cinematography, creating a cinematic portrait of the artists, cultural practitioners, and community voices that define one of the city’s most vibrant neighborhoods.

The film reflects the power of art to preserve memory, strengthen cultural identity, and create meaningful connections between people, place, and generations.
